Singer songwriter Monique Poirier has launched the title track of her recent album Parler de paradis, a folk pop song in the artist’s image: unpretentious, genuine, and sincere.
Parler de paradis follows the first si
ngle Des anges dans la neige launched last November which gained success on the Acadian radio charts. With lyrics co-written by Monique and Christian Kit Goguen (who also composed the music), the song is about Monique’s idea of paradise: “Kit and I grew up in small communities surrounded by nature. Tightly woven communities where everyone knows each other. When you grow up in these places, you can’t wait to get out and see the world. Once into adulthood, however, and after seeing what the world had to offer, there’s the longing to return where you belong, to a place that seems more peaceful.”
Le dimanche, on avait l’habitude
De se bercer sous les arbres géants
Quand juillet réchauffait le vent
Et parfois les gens s’arrêtaient chez nous
Juste pour en faire autant
Moi je rêvais d’un monde différent
Plus grand
